About the site

Okay, so I really don't know what I'm doing. I'll confess right now that I'm an engineer, not a graphic arts major. Furthermore, I don't work for a "dot com", and building this site was more or less an excuse to play around with Linux and HTML and all that good stuff, rather than something I put together because I was already proficient in any of these topics.

I'm currently in the process of upgrading this site to PHP / MySQL, so be on the lookout for sporadic errors...urmmm...I mean features. Yeah, features.

This site was created using ASCII (motto: "Uphill, in the snow, both ways, with a keyboard!"). The closest I came to a fancy HTML development environment was Emacs coloring my tags cornflower blue or somesuch. The graphics were done with The Gimp, a fantastic example of why the open source movement is a wonderful thing.

In the spirit of the open source movement, I figured that I would contribute my own meager scripts and code-tidbits that I used to make this site for the use of anyone interested. Of course, I was planning on actually trying to make something genuinely useful before I released it. However, due to a couple of requests, I'll offer up what I have so far. If you're interested, check out my scripts page. If you actually use anything, please let me know, for two reasons. First, I can get a tiny bit of self-gratification (thus helping me out). Second, you'll guilt me into actually trying to improve it (thus helping you out).
