Waterskiing "Fiasco"

Okay...So I was looking through a box of old photos, and came across these. They're from a trip I took in spring break of '91 to Naples, Florida, with my friends Maria and (oh gosh...I'm not even sure I remember his name...I feel embarrased...well, let's just guess and hope that nobody notices) Mark. I probably would have looked at them, remembered the occasion, and put them back in the box to scan in "later" (you fellow procrastinators know the particular "later" I'm talking about...).

Except for one little detail. These shot contain very rare footage of me thoroughly making a fool out of myself trying to waterski. Even though I didn't have the negatives, and had to scan in the prints directly, the opportunity was too good to pass up. So, in the spirit of levity, here are the pictures.

Here we are on the boat with Maria's dad.	Looking cool...enjoying the sun.	I can't believe I still own this shirt. Don't tell anybody.	Here's my GQ pose. Yes, I know, that's why I'm an engineer.
My pride and joy. A sheepshead fish that I caught spearfishing in the Florida Keys. My first time!	Gotta love the beach. Maria's friend (Holly?) is with us.	Notice how Maria is already laughing. She must know what's going to happen.	She's telling me what to do right now. Not that I'm listening.
I brace for impact.	With a graceful little floundering, I am underway.	Again, the key word here is graceful. Remember that.	Oh my god! I am actually on my feet!
(2 seconds later) POW! Mercifully, the picture doesn't show my skis, which are both 20 feet in the air.	By the way, all that water rushing through your legs when you fall hurts...	Undaunted, I did manage to get it right once or twice.	Time for some hot chocolate (hey, I'm not 21 in this picture!)
